Micro-Electronics and Electronics Applications

The demands for this sector are very different to that of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Contamination issues are more focused on airborne particulates, and higher air change rates & laminar airflow are demanded.

MSS Electronics Application Cleanroom

Cleanliness of the facility, free from particulates generated by people and conditioned air, is paramount. It would be normal practice to be fully gowned, and enter the facility through a high velocity HEPA filtered air shower to remove residual particulates.

To achieve the cleanliness levels as low as ISO 4 (Federal Standard 209E Class 10) requires many air changes per hour and laminar airflow. To achieve this requires a supply plenum; a ceiling with filters (or fan filter units) usually covering 100% of the area; plus a raised floor with sub-floor plenum. The conditioned air is re-circulated via the sub-floor plenum, connected by return air chases fitted with localised heating/cooling (as required).
